Jim Mooney, P.E.

 CEO Mr. Mooney has been working in the mechanical construction industry since 1982.  His experience includes engineering, air and hydronic balancing, construction management, troubleshooting, and equipment service.

In 2002, Mr. Mooney, along with three partners, created Enginuity, LLC a firm dedicated to designing, building and servicing mechanical systems for commerce and industry.  Jim entered the energy sector in 2008 by starting Enginuity Energy LLC, a company committed to providing sustainable and ennovative℠ solutions, promoting energy conservation and clean power generation through the use of renewable resources.

In 2010, Enginuity Energy merged with rem Engineering, a privately held firm specializing in the custom design and project development of industrial power generation and energy conservation systems.

Dave Mooney

President / COO  Mr. Mooney, is an expert in renewable power generation and co-generation systems.  He began his career with W.L. Gore and Associates where he earned U.S. and International patents for filtration membranes.
 
In 1995, Mr. Mooney joined rem Engineering, a company specialized in energy conservation and the turn key supply of power generation systems. Mr. Mooney earned his second US patent for the invention of Ecoremedy™, an apparatus and method of biomass gasification.
 
In 2007, under the direction of Mr. Mooney, rem formed a global sales network, Steam Turbine Generators (STG), to promote and sell packaged steam turbine generator systems for industrial and utility customers. 

In 2010, Mr. Mooney orchestrated the merger of rem Engineering with Enginuity Energy LLC.

Jim Elash

Partner & Field Operations Advisor
Mr. Elash has been working in the mechanical construction industry since 1966.  His career has included field service of HVAC and refrigeration equipment, owning his own HVAC service company, service field operations management for a $15 million service operation.

In late 2002, Mr. Elash, along with three partners, created Enginuity, LLC a firm dedicated to designing, building and servicing mechanical systems.

David Heck

V.P. Operations & Int. Business Development  
Mr. Heck brings to Enginuity Energy, LLC over 24 years experience in the electronic and industrial industry, serving in various roles from running business units to global marketing and global product management.  His international business experience extends throughout North & South America, Europe, and the Asia Pacific Region. 

Mr. Heck comes to us from a $15 billion dollar company where he served as a Global Director and other various strategic positions.  He holds a bachelor’s degree from Juniata College in Pennsylvania and an MBA in International Business from California State University.  Mr. Heck also holds one US and International patent. 

As Vice President of Operations and International Business Development he will assist Enginuity Energy LLC with its day to day operations and strategic marketing as well as establish the company’s entry strategy into the international marketplace.

Michael Bradley

Legal Council & Business Advisor
A member of Sutherland’s Energy and Environmental Practice Group, Mike Bradley’s governmental and private sector energy practice spans more than 25 years and includes lead responsibility for a wide variety of regulatory and commercial matters. His clients include public utility regulatory bodies, unregulated affiliates of regulated utilities, independent power producers and other generators developing, financing and operating power projects.

2004:  Mr. Bradley served as Senior Vice President of Calpine Corporation and as President of NewSouth Energy LLC where he oversaw the political, regulatory and commercial interests of approximately 7,000 MW of generating stations in 9 southeastern states.

Mr. Bradley served as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Georgia from 1982 to 1985 and was appointed Special Assistant Attorney General from 1987 to 1991.

Richard Backus II

Financial Advisor & Debt Financing
Mr. Backus joined BB&T Capital Markets as a Managing Director September 2000. He is responsible for structured debt and equity real estate transactions and heads the Real Estate Investment Banking Group. 

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Backus served as Managing Director and industry group head of Real Estate Capital Markets for Morgan Keegan & Co. Preceding his association with Morgan Keegan, Mr. Backus was Managing Director, Investment Banking at Wheat First Butcher Singer, where he headed the Firm’s Real Estate Group. Mr. Backus carried out a similar role at NationsBank Investment Banking and Merrill Lynch Capital Markets.
He received a B.A. from Marshall University, a M.S. in Public Administration from Eastern Kentucky University and a M.B.A. from the Graduate School of Business at the University of Chicago.
